Positive Attitude Versus Negative Attitude

Positive Attitude Versus Negative Attitude
There is always two ways to look at everything you. Your attitude to life and the events that cross your path are vitally important. Begin by looking on the positive side of life by being optimistic.

How can you look at the positive side of life?

Look at a glass that is half filled with water. The negatively thinking person will say “the glass is half empty”, the positively thinking person will say “the glass is half full.”

When it’s raining do you say “Oh no, its raining, everywhere will be wet,” or do you say “Thank God, the garden needs some water,” or, “Oh, nature is having a shower.”

When your car breaks down on the roadway, more often than not, the car is giving you a warning about something that needs fixing before it gets worse, or this might be to slow you down, or prevent a worse disaster further down the road.

The powerful effect of positive thinking

Positive attitude is all in the mind. If you wake up and think that you’re too tired to get out of bed or tell yourself that you don’t feel like getting out of bed today, your body reacts by being lethargic, lazy and sluggish. But, think about how many times you went to bed late, had very little sleep and the next morning you are going on holidays – and with this in mind you can hop out of bed, full of excitement and enthusiasm and head off to your holiday destination.

With this different, more positive mental attitude your physical body responds and suddenly you are full of energy and vitality

Try not to let your mind start thinking about all that you don’t have. This can be hard if you have lost a loved one or someone you cared about. It can be hard to be positive in thought if you have lost your job or home or you are going through financial pressure or a difficult time.

Accepting where you are in life

It can be helpful to stop for a moment and think about where you are at in your life right now. Accepting what is and what you do have, is just the beginning. Accepting where you are in life at this moment can allow you to start from the here and now and allow you to dream and plan about what you want to do and where you want to go from here for your future.

Be grateful for what you do have each day. Be grateful for the job you work at, the home or place of residence where you live, the relationships and friends and family you have around you and most importantly your good health.

Here are some tips on how you can look at various scenarios in the future and see how a positive mental attitude fits in with different circumstances.

  • If you leave a job or relationship because you do not want to be trapped – it is negative.
  • If you leave a job or relationship because you want to be free and have a better life – it is positive.
  • If you try to score a goal to prevent you from losing the game – it is negative.
  • If you try to score a goal so that you can win the game it is – positive.
  • If you work hard so you will have enough money to survive – it is negative.
  • If you work hard so that you will have enough money to enjoy life – it is positive.
  • If you sell your house because you are afraid of being on your own, or don’t have enough money to maintain it – that is negative.
  • If you sell your house so that you can have a more practical design of a house, in a nicer area, and a better life-style – it is positive.
  • If you move out of your space to see things from someone else’s position – it is negative.
  • If you stay in your space and see things from someone else’s perspective – it is positive.
